I am posting this page on 9.11.2024. My thoughts are with the families of the perished. The statement below is from 2001. Please see this & other’s artwork at
9/11 Memorial & Museum.
This powerful vision came to me the week after September 11, 2001. Guided by dreams, visions, & synchronicities, the painting revealed itself to me in stunning simplicity. My life was completely overturned & lifted by the creation of this painting, projecting me into my true self as an artist & a soul on the path back to God. Any doubts which I had held about the existence of a Divine force were completely erased in the truth of my experience.
The natural world was in alignment with me every step of the way—propelled by forces infinitely greater than myself. Every bird & animal in the painting first presented itself to me in the sky or on the land around me. Each element was a wondrous discovery. The birth of this painting was a truly astonishing experience.
What is represented here is the journey of the souls back to the Light/Creator. The God figure came to me as a Mother Earth image, because all people everywhere can relate to the earth as a life-giving mother, no matter by what name they call God.
This painting is also a map to enlightenment, as it represents the various states of consciousness in which we find ourselves, and how letting go into trust in God inevitably moves us into One-ness.
It is my sincere intention to respectfully offer my view of what happened that day, with the desire that some suffering might be lifted by this vision.
